Hundreds of Print-or-Play Resources for Religious Educators

06/29/2017 By Jared Dees

Imagine . . . A classroom of kids actively engaged in learning about their faith. They work diligently on assignments. They listen to your presentations. They ask questions and are able to go home and articulate what they learned in class to their parents and friends.

Now imagine the opposite . . . Students are bored and not interested in anything you say. The assignments you give them confuse and lose them. They can’t wait for class to end so they can go home.

My guess is that your class is somewhere in the middle. Could you use a little help keeping the kids engaged as much as possible?

That’s the mission of The Religion Teacher. Here you will find hundreds of practical resources to help you keep your students actively engaged in learning about their faith.

So, why does this have to be so hard? Why are so many of our students uninterested in and unengaged in class? What can we do differently to keep them active and involved in the learning process during the entire time we get to teach them?

Well, first here is what not to do (believe me, I know from experience):

Read more about these mistakes here: From Lecturer to Leader (Part 1): 3 Mistakes to Avoid this Year

So what do we do instead? How can we keep students actively engaged?

Here are three simple things you can do to increase engagement in class:

How The Religion Teacher Helps

If you are like most religious educators, you are searching for resources the night before your class. You go looking for a practical resource to use in class that will keep students active and interested in learning. That’s where we want to help.

At The Religion Teacher’s main website, you will find a large collection of activities, lesson plans, prayers, and teaching strategies. These resources are available to everyone.

You can also become a premium member and gain exclusive access to hundreds of worksheets, graphic organizers, and videos. Using the membership website is pretty simple. Once you login, search for what you are teaching, print the worksheet or play the video, and then use the resources to keep students active and engaged in the learning process.

For example, let’s say you are teaching a lesson on the Eucharist.

You login and then type “eucharist” in the search bar. In the search results you will discover videos on the symbols and effects of the Sacrament of the Eucharist, a video on the Parts of the Mass, a lesson idea on how to teach about the Eucharist, and worksheets including the Bread of Life Worksheet and The Body and Blood of Christ Worksheet.

What does a premium membership include?

Exclusive access to engaging worksheets, educational videos, and opportunities for professional development.
